Ed Borst was born in Evanston IL in 1923. He served in WWII in the Aleutian Islands & was very proud of his service. He married Rose Mary Nilles in 1948 & raised their eight children in Wheeling & Forest Glen IL. He worked 35 plus years as a “beer man” as he’d say, he was a driver salesman for Miller Beer. He loved to drive whether for work or pleasure. In his many years of retirement he loved to travel with Mom & then later his loving companion Ruthie. Early in retirement he enjoyed large woodworking projects out of the garage building outdoor furniture. He also played indoors with model trains & planes & began his love of building dollhouses. When his home life downsized so did his projects. He got into smaller woodworking crafts & many more dollhouses. He had plenty of grandchildren & great grandchildren to make special handmade gifts from Grandpa. He would love to work on the crafts with the children & show off his latest project to everyone. He always had something going even up to his last days. He loved working with his hands.
