J.L. Sims Jr., 92, of Longville, Louisiana passed away on Thursday, September 19, 2024. He was born to his late parents, Johnie Lee and Prebble Sims on May 29, 1932 in Athens, Texas. He was proud of his military service in the United States Air Force for 20 years before he retired. He later worked at PPG Industries as an electrician.
He is survived by his children, Brady Sims of Kerrville, Texas, Tammy Midkiff of Longville, and Penny Dunning of DeQuincy; as well a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, and a great-great grandson.
J.L. is preceded in death by his parents; along with his brother, Travis Sims.
A Celebration of J.L.'s life will be held at Hixson-Snider Funeral Home on Sunday, September 22, 2024, at 2:00 pm, with Reverend Alexandria Giovanni officiating. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Sunday, beginning at 12:30 pm until the time of the service.
