Jimmy Irwin Mullins, 79, of Longville, Louisiana, passed away on Thursday, December 12, 2024. He was born to his late parents, William and Essie Mullins on July 26, 1945 in DeQuincy, Louisiana. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, and loved going to work to provide for his family. Jimmy loved raising animals and enjoyed the outdoors. He was proud of his military service in the United States Army where he served in Vietnam. Jimmy was employed with Levingston Shipyards where he worked for 10 years. Following Levingston, he worked for PPG as a pipefitter for 32 years. His family was his pride and joy, and he loved them very much. Jimmy was of the Baptist faith, and loved his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Patricia Mullins; children, Lisa Martin (Steve) of DeQuincy, Pamela Martin (Jimmy) of DeQuincy, and Kris Mullins (Kathy) of Longville; sister-in-law, Barbara Mullins; two grandchildren, Matthew Martin (Shelby) and P.J. Martin; along with numerous nieces and nephews.
Jimmy is preceded in death by his parents; along with his siblings, Elizabeth Marcantel and Jerry Mullins.
A Celebration of Jimmy’s life will be held on Wednesday, December 18, 2024, at 1:00 pm, with Robert Marcantel officiating. Visitation will be at Hixson-Snider Funeral Home in DeQuincy on Tuesday, December 17, 2024, from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm, with a Rosary at 6:00 pm.Visitation will resume at the funeral home on Wednesday, from 11:00 am until the time of the service at 1:00 pm. Burial will follow at Masonic Cemetery in DeQuincy, Louisiana.
