She was born April 11,1931 in Walsh, CO.
She was the daughter of Roy D. and Mattie Mae Howard.
She spent her childhood in Alamosa, CO and other small towns in southern Colorado.
Thelma graduated from Alamosa High School in 1948. She played the saxophone in the marching band.
She attended college at the University of Northern CO in Greeley.
She married Boen Chambers and had four children. She was a homemaker as well as a very talented custom seamstress.
She was also employed as an accountant and dental hygienist.
Thelma married Wesley Ellis in 1976 and lived in Canon City, CO as well as Denver.
She is predeceased by her parents, her husband Wesley Ellis, sons John Chambers and Robert Chambers, grandson Colin Williams, and her brother Roy Carlin Howard.
She is survived by her son Glenn Chambers and spouse Philippe Didier-Courbin of Ciboure, France and daughter Roberta Chambers of Ranchos de Taos NM.
She was a gentle and very patient loving mother with a heart of gold. She also was very talented and creative. Her favorite pastimes included gardening, sewing, crocheting and ceramics. Her favorite indulgences included anything made of chocolate, bananas and collecting teddy bears.
She will be remembered for her love of family, a generous kind spirit, a beautiful smile and a keen sense of humor. Her Christian faith was important to her. She possessed strong values, integrity, courage and respect for other people.

Our thanks extends to the entire staff at Highline Place Memory Care in Littleton, CO for the loving care and comfort they always provided our Mom. Everyone there made her final days immensely better.
