Four years ago, Sally made a decision…. cancer would not represent an end- it would open the door to a new beginning. She had a choice. Would she become bitter and afraid- questioning God’s love for her- or would she walk on, focused, believing in His ultimate goodness and incredible personal love?
With each revised diagnosis, each bit of bad news, she stood at new crossroads facing strong temptation to take a path that would lead her away from what she knew was truth; that all things work together for good for those who love God. Sally chose love and the scenes on the journey that followed were breathtaking.
Cancer became Sally’s key- a key that would open doors, unlocking hearts, creating opportunities to passionately share her faith and the reason for her hope. While disease carefully chiseled away at the less important things in life, Sally kept her eyes focused on Jesus and His personal love for her. She praised Him with all her heart in spite of, and even because of, her suffering. She continued believing in spite of her circumstances and her influence increased. Her humble position and surrendered heart drew dozens of new people in to her life; her relationships grew richer and deeper. Many lives were touched and challenged as Sally determinedly refused to stop living- even as bodily death loomed nearer.
Sally Connors was a most cherished wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She was a precious lady who made a choice. She chose to trust and believe in the face of insurmountable circumstances. She chose to know that she was cherished. She partnered with God in His desire to have all draw near to Him- and in turn, He poured love over her and honored her through His people. Sally was dearly loved.
Please join us in honoring her…. We invite you to share your story about how Sally touched your life.
Memorial Service will be April 1, 2 pm at Calvary Chapel Aurora, 18900 E. Hampden Ave.
