In 1988 Leilani joined the Army National Guard in Colorado to pursue a profession in nursing. While she was there, she met the love of her life, Tom. She received her LPN in 1991 while in the Army National Guard. In 1996 she received her Associate of Applied Science in Nursing, with honor, from The Community College of Denver and received her RN license. After relocating to Virginia with her family she began her 16-year tenure at Inova Fair Oaks Hospital where she received an Excellence in Nursing award in 2009. In 2015 Leilani graduated with her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Liberty University. Helping others was an ongoing passion and joy for Leilani and she loved to strengthen and enrich the lives of every patient she encountered.
Leilani married Tom Craig on July 27, 1990 in Aurora, Colorado. In February 1992 they welcomed their daughter Brittenae into the world.
