Edward G. Strait of Littleton, Colorado and formerly of Bradford Pennsylvania and Ocala, Florida passed away on Saturday, April 29, 2017 in Castle Rock, Colorado. Ed, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather was born in Bradford, PA. He served in the U.S. Army 1949-1950 and returned to Bradford where he married Dana Johnston in 1953. Ed and Dana raised two sons and moved the family to Ocala, FL in 1972. Ed was a licensed master plumber and owned his own business, Edward Strait Plumbing, in Ocala where he enjoyed serving his customers. He worked with the local community college to start a plumbing apprentice program to assist others in obtaining their master plumber’s license. Ed was a founding member of the St. George Anglican Church in Ocala, FL, and served on the vestry as well as volunteering in numerous roles. Ed and Dana enjoyed traveling and spent summers as part time work-campers in Franklin, North Carolina, Denver Colorado, and Rapid City, South Dakota. Ed and Dana moved to Denver, CO, in 2016 to be near their son Chris. Ed was a long time member of the Masons. Ed liked fishing and golf, but his greatest joy came from being with friends and family. Ed is survived by his loving wife, Dana J. Strait (nee Johnston); his children: Christopher Strait nad his wife Nancy and Jonathan Strait and his wife Gloria; his sister, Georgine Vickery; granddaughter, Andrea Sylvester and her husband Chad and their children (Ed's great-grandchildren) Patrick and Landon; his grandsons Erik Strait, Nathaniel Strait and Michael Strait and his wife Rachel Harvey Strait; as well as many nieces and nephews. Ed was preceded in death by his parents, Lillyan Knapp and George Emmett Strait, as well as his birth mother Josephine Cordner Strait and his sisters Pauline Bond and Stella McCune.
