Cheryl Snyder

Rev. Cheryl Delpha Ruby Snyder was born in Boulder, Colorado on May 5, 1951 and went to be with the Lord on September 5, 2011 at home, with her husband and family by her side in Westminster, Colorado.

Cheryl was raised in Louisville, Colorado by her wonderful Christian parents, Rev. David and Delpha Ruby. Cheryl graduated from High School in 1968 and continued her education taking classes in college and Bible Seminary.

In 1969, Cheryl met her husband-to-be, Keith Snyder, in no less than a good old Colorado snowstorm. They dated for a while and one night Cheryl led Keith to the Lord and he was saved. Keith was a changed man.

On April 18, 1970, Cheryl and Keith were married in Boulder, Colorado, by Rev. Oscar Brown.

Cheryl and Keith were blessed with their two beautiful daughters, Heather Lara, born on October 14, 1973 and Kristen Naomi, born on June 16th, 1976. Three more blessings came to them with the births of their three granddaughters, Johanna Kayleigh, born on July 23, 1994, Summer Clove, born on May 13, 1996, and Hallee Victoria, born on January 11, 2000. She loved spending time with her family.

Everything Cheryl did was done with excellence! She was a teacher, a bookkeeper and an ordained minister. Women’s ministry was very important to her. Cheryl’s faith was strong. She taught thousands the plan of salvation and sanctification through Jesus Christ and the necessity to have a personal relationship with the Savior. She urged everyone to be sure to not put off asking the Lord into their hearts. We all know that she not only preached it, but she lived it out on a daily basis teaching by her example of living a life of holiness and purity of heart. Cheryl had a heart for people and wanted everyone to make the race to Heaven.

Cheryl was a wonderful daughter who made her parents so proud. She truly blessed others who called her sister, wife, mother, grandmother or friend. We are all in one of these categories.

She was a hard worker, a helper, a caregiver, a counselor, a leader. Cheryl was a woman of faith and a prayer warrior. She was dedicated, constant, generous, thoughtful and kind. Cheryl faithfully served the Lord. If a job needed to be done, she volunteered to do it.

Cheryl enjoyed reading and taking walks. She had a beautiful rose garden on the south side of her home. She collected dolls as a hobby to enjoy with her mother. She also collected pictures and things that her granddaughters made for her over the years and she proudly displayed them in her home for all to see and enjoy. Those young ladies are quite creative and Cheryl loved them to pieces!

Cheryl is survived by her husband, J. Keith Snyder, daughters, Heather Lara Lavender and Kristen Naomi Snyder, granddaughters, Johanna Kayleigh Lavender, Summer Clove (Cloe) Flos, and Hallee Victoria Lavender, her mother, Delpha Mae Ruby, mother-in-law, Miriam B. Chatelain, brothers and sister, Perry Ruby, Silver Ruby, Candy Graham and Kim Ruby, brothers and sisters-in-law, Bunnie Ruby, Elizabeth Ruby, Gerry Graham, Jennifer Ruby, Edwina & Ron Detweiler, Cheryl and Clyde Calvert, Steve and Connie Snyder and Connie Wallace, 14 nieces and nephews, 26 great nieces and nephews, and 6 great-great nieces and nephews. She is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles and cousins, and many friends.

Cheryl was preceded in death by her father, Rev. David Ruby, niece, Daphne Nicholas, and two great-nieces, C. J. and Cori Lynn Harlan.
