Charles N. Burton, age 78, of Aurora, CO, passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 28, 2013, with his family at his side. He was always the most devoted husband, father and grandfather. Charles is survived by his brothers Donald and Neil, sister Esther, children Tim, Robert and Rebecca and his grandchildren Nicholas, Emily and Michelle. He will always be loved and cherished.
Born in Solano, NM, Charles grew up on a small farm with five siblings. After graduating high school, Charles joined the U.S. Navy and served during the Korean War aboard the USS Hancock until his honorable discharge in 1958. Charles went on to attend Nebraska State Trade School in Milford, NE where he studied refrigeration mechanics, graduating in 1959. After graduation, Charles moved to Denver, CO, where he settled and met the love of his life, Ann. As Charles and Ann raised their three children, he continued to work as a refrigeration mechanic until he retired in 2000. Charles and Ann always loved travelling around this great country in their RV and continued to do so well into retirement.
Funeral Services will be held on Monday, December 2nd, 12:00 PM at Smoky Hill United Methodist Church located at 19491 E. Smoky Hill Road in Centennial, CO. Military Honors will be rendered by the U.S. Navy at graveside following the services.
