On January 12, 2018 the loving arms of God came and carried Aletha Irene (Rogers) Miller, 93, to her Eternal home in heaven. She died peacefully in her home in Denver surrounded by loving family members.
Aletha was born to the late Charles and Belle (Hatfield) Rogers in Madison County, Iowa on February 16, 1924. She was an active member in the Christian community that would be her lifelong support from an early age . She was an active member of St. Mark's Lutheran Church in Aurora, CO for over 50 years.
She married her one and only true love, Herman J. "Dutch" Miller on March 21, 1948. Even though they had no children of their own, they were godparents to numerous children.
Aletha loved telling family stories and sewing, making her own clothes. She was a member for many years of St. Mark's Quilters group. She also enjoyed singing, crocheting, gardening and canning. Most of all, she loved camping and fishing with Dutch.
Aletha is survived by her sister Esther (Richard) Rusk, Aurora, CO and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
She is proceeded in death by her parents, Charles and Belle (Hatfield) Rogers. Her husband, Herman "Dutch" Miller, brothers Elmer, Clair, Riley and Leslie Rogers; sisters Ethel (Rogers) Jeffs and Fern (Rogers) Davis.
Aletha's viewing will be January 17, 2018 at Olinger Hampden Mortuary, 8600 E. Hampden Ave., Denver, CO 5 pm to 8 pm.
Her funeral will be January 18, 2018 at St Mark's Lutheran Church, 111 Del Mar Circle, Aurora, CO at 11 am. A luncheon reception will follow the service.
Her final resting place will be: Olinger Eastlawn Cemetery, Garden of Our Savior, Aurora, CO.
