DELCAMBRE – A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated for Mrs. Grace LeBlanc Langlinais, age 94, at 11:00 am Tuesday, March 23, 2010 at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church. Fr. Herb Bennerfield will be the celebrant. Interment will follow in Our Lady of the Lake Cemetery.
A gathering of family and friends will be held at Evangeline Funeral Home of Monday from 4:00 pm until 9:00 pm, with the rosary to be recited at 7:00 pm. The funeral home will reopen Tuesday from 8:00 am until services.
A native and lifelong resident of Delcambre, Mrs. Langlinais passed away Sunday, March 21, 2010 at LA Extended Care Hospital in Lafayette.
Mrs. Langlinais was born December 5, 1915 to Sulie and Lea Viator LeBlanc, and was one of seven children. She was lifelong parishioner of Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church and a member of the St. Anne Altar Society. Grace was devoted to the love and care of her family and leaves behind many fond memories with those she loved so dearly.
Survivors include her five children, Karen Broussard of Kaplan, Michelle Landry and husband Mark of Katie, Texas, Patrick Langlinais and wife Wanda of Lafayette, Danny Langlinais and companion Rhonda Theriot of Delcambre, and Randolph Langlinais and wife Diane of Delcambre; 18 granchldren and 16 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Norris P. Langlinais; parents, Sulie and Lea Viator LeBlanc; a son-in-law, Johnny Broussard; and her sister and brothers, Della Dugas, Raleigh, Lane, Emick, Harris and Jessie LeBlanc.
Mrs. Langlinais’ grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
