Heaven gained another angel on July 2, 2022, Mary Joan (Menagh) Lerda. Mary was born to Madonna and George Menagh on June 13, 1932 in Dennison Iowa. She was married to Joe Lerda for 50 years, the love of her life.
She is survived by her daughter Peggy (John) Jiles, and her son Frank (Michelle) Lerda. She is also survived by her siblings Madonna (Jean) Laborde, Jim (Susan) Menagh and Cathy (Mike) Botsakos, eleven grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and one great-great granddaughter.
Mary was preceded in death by her husband Joe Lerda, daughters Mary Jo Heath, Leah Moore and her son Joey Lerda, her sister Sally McNally and brother Bill Menagh.
Mary grew up in Delano California and upon her Delano High School graduation she married and began her family. Mary was the buyer and assistant manager at Morris’ Department Store for over 30 years. She was an active member of St Mary’s Church her entire life. Mary also volunteered at Delano Regional Medical Center gift shop for over five years.
Mary leaves behind a legacy of love and kindness to her family and friends.
A rosary for Mary will be held Wednesday, July 20, 2022 from 9:30 AM to 10:00 AM at St. Mary's of the Miraculous Medal Parish, 916 Lexington St., Delano, CA 93215 with a mass of christian burial to follow. A committal service will occur Wednesday, July 20, 2022 from 11:00 AM to 11:30 AM at North Kern District Cemetery, 627 Austin St., Delano, CA 93215.
