She was preceded in death by her parents the late Rev. Juan Mata Amaya and Angela Garcia Amaya, her three brothers and one sister.
She is survived by eight brothers and sisters; Cruz and Joe Cardona [Earlimart, California], Jose and Josie Amaya [Los Angeles, California], Noemi Gutierrez [Pixley, California], Bernie and Carmen Amaya [Salinas, California], Esther and Frank Cisneros [Earlimart, California], Juan G. and Maria Amaya [Fort Smith, Arkansas], Angie and Paul Morfin [Waxhaw, North Carolina], Seferino and Connie Amaya [Kingsburg, California], and many nephews and nieces.
Lydia lived in Texas until 1953 after which the family moved to Earlimart, California. Lydia accepted the Christ as her Savior at an early age and was baptized in 1952 in Odessa, Texas. She was a member of "Sendero De La Cruz" (Assemblies of God Church in Earlimart, California for many years.
Lydia dedicated her life and talents to the Lord. She had a beautiful voice and during her youth was a member of the Youth Choir and also the Evangelism Team. Later she served as the Church Secretary, Treasurer. She was an amazing baker and was often asked to bake cakes and pies for church functions. She was faithful to the Lord and to her church to the best of her ability. One of her favorite Bible passage is Psalms 121. Lydia loved the outdoors and spent many years working in agriculture. Her last employment was in Home Care, as an Aide. She also cared for her ill parents and her sister Paula.
Lydia graduated from Earlimart Junior High School in 1954, and graduated from Delano High School in 1958. She was the first in her family to graduate from High School and was a recipient of several Honor Roll Certificates.
