Guillermo Fabela, Jr, 75, of Delano, proud veteran of the United States Air Force, died November 3rd, 2023, in Tulare, CA.He was born on February 12, 1948, to Guillermo and Lillian Fabela in Delano, CA.
Bill attended Delano High, where he participated in Knights of Columbus. He then attended Bakersfield Jr. College before enlisting in the U.S. Air Force at the age of 19. He valued this service highly and attained the rank of sergeant. Bill served from 1968-1972. As part of his service, he was stationed in Yakota Air Base in Fussa, Tokyo, Japan.
Bill worked in maintenance and retired after 20 years from Delano Union School District. He was a golfer, fisherman, avid reader, music lover and appreciated military history. He enjoyed spending time with family and always had a joke to tell. He never missed an opportunity to wish someone a Happy Birthday or attend a special celebration.
He was preceded in death by Guillermo Fabela Sr., Lillian Fabela, Daniel Fabela, and Ovidia Cervantes.
Bill is survived by his brother Richard Fabela, nieces Ivy Contreras, Jennifer Rivas, Jessica Cervantes, nephews Matthew Fabela, Andrew Fabela, Antonio Cervantes, great-nieces Samantha Earwood, Valerie Fabela, Rubi Rivas, Evelyn Fabela & great-nephews Sean Earwood, Alexander Fabela, Anthony Fabela and Maximiliano Rivas.
Visitation will be Wednesday December 13th, 2023, from 3PM-6PM at Funeraria Del Angel 707 Browning Road Delano, CA 93215.Funeral services will be Thursday December 14th at 10AM at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church 1015 Clinton Street Delano, CA 93215. Interment will follow at North Kern Cemetery 627 Austin Street Delano CA 93215.
Pallbearers will be Richard Fabela, Matthew Fabela, Andrew Fabela, Refugio Rivas, Sean Earwood, and Alexander Fabela.
Services entrusted to Funeraria Del Angel Delano, a Dignity Memorial provider.
