Maud, OK to Virgil and Evelyn Lovelace. He was a graduate of Maud High School and a
1960 graduate of OCU, where he received a full scholarship. He was one of very few
college educated hearing-impaired persons of that time. He was a draftsman and worked
on underground missile sites in Cheyenne, WY and Lubbock, TX; and retired after 20
years at ODOT. To fulfill his dream, he opened his own restaurant maintenance business,
Lovelace & Son. He was a hard worker, industrious person, and a loving husband and
father. He loved to travel, cook and was very mechanically inclined. He really enjoyed
his dogs. He is survived by a son: Cody Lovelace and wife Dedra of Cushing; a daughter:
Alisa Lovelace and husband Mike of Lawton; a stepson: Robert Levine of Wadesboro,
NC; a stepdaughter Stephanie Sylvester of OKC; 10 grandchildren, 3 great-
grandchildren; sister: Ellen and husband Jack Copeland of Macomb; and numerous
nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife Barbara, his parents, brother
Robert V. Lovelace and sister DeLoyce Branscum. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m.
Thursday, March 25, 2010 at Crosswalk Community Church, 7221 Lyrewood Lane.
Richard will be laid to rest next to his wife at Resurrection Cemetery, OKC.
