Paul Jay Pearson, age 92, of Del City, Oklahoma passed away on December 19, 2022. He was born on November 12, 1930 in Pottsboro, Texas to Samuel and Bertha (McGregor) Pearson. After graduating from Pottsboro High School, he lived in Denison, Texas until his move to Del City, OK in 1971. He attended two years at Southeastern Oklahoma State University. Paul was a Staff Sergeant for the U.S. Air Force, and served in the Korean War as Crew Chief for a B-26 Bomber. He then worked as an aircraft mechanic at Tinker Air Force Base for 36 years until his retirement, and later worked at Midwest Trophy for 10+ years.
He married the love of his life, Joyce Higgins, in 1959, and together they had two children, Mark and Lisa. Paul was a Deacon at the Del City Church of Christ, where he was involved in many activities with the church, including helping with Meals on Wheels and serving on various church committees. He will be greatly missed by his friends and family.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Samuel and Bertha; his wife, Joyce; brothers, Owen, Sam, J.R., and Bruce; and sisters, Bobbie and Francile.
He is survived by his two children, Mark Pearson (wife Trinia) and Lisa Aldridge (husband Gary); grandchildren, Shelby, Taylor (husband Cameron), Brandy (husband Daniel), and Ty; great-grandchildren Sylys Jay Paul and Pearson Leigh; sister Arlene Joines; and a host of other family and friends.
The family would like to express their gratitude for the staff at Wellington Parke for the great care that they gave to Paul.
Visitation will be from 4-8pm Thursday, December 22, 2022 at Bill Eisenhour Funeral Home in Del City, OK. Services will be at 10am Friday, December 23, 2022 at Del City Church of Christ, with burial to follow at Arlington Memory Gardens.
