Marianne E. Konrath, longtime resident of Del City, OK, passed away on June 19, 2022. She was born on October 7, 1923 in Biebrich, Germany to Hermann and Emilie (Mapper) Ehrengart. She grew up in Germany and worked as a secretary for the German government. She later worked at the American Air Base Exchange until she met USAF SSgt Alvin Konrath in August of 1953. Alvin and Marianne married on May 29, 1954 and were transferred stateside soon after. During their 61 years together, they had six children.
Marianne was a 50+ year member of the VFW Auxiliary, a member of the MWC American Legion Auxiliary, and a member of the 40&8 Auxiliary, holding various officer positions in each of the organizations. She was a member of St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church in Del City since 1966. Marianne was a manager of A&W for 20+ years, and a manager of the VFW 9969 Canteen. She enjoyed camping, fishing, playing bingo, dominos, crocheting, and was an avid pinochle player. She and her husband enjoyed traveling all over the United States for Veterans events.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Hermann and Emilie Ehrengart; her husband Alvin Konrath; and two brothers, Edward Ehrengart and Kurt Ehrengart.
She is survived by her six children, Robert Konrath, Paul Konrath (wife Carol), Monica Hogue (husband Billy), Kurt Konrath (wife Kathy), Mary Brese (husband John), and Patricia White; 17 grandchildren; 20+ great/great-great-grandchildren; and many other friends and family.
Visitation will be from 3-8pm Wednesday, June 22, 2022 at Bill Eisenhour Funeral Home in Del City, OK. The funeral Mass will be at 10am Thursday, June 23, 2022 at St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church in Del City, with burial to follow at Sunny Lane Cemetery in Del City. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her honor to J.D. McCarty Cerebral Palsy Center, 2002 E. Robinson, Norman, OK 73071.
