Joyce Beatrice Brassfield

Joyce Beatrice Brassfield, 81, passed away on January 3rd, 2024 in Midwest City, OK. She was born on December 17th, 1942 in Oklahoma City, OK to Dora “Lucille” and Jess Brassfield. Joyce Brassfield is predeceased by her brother Gary in 1946, her father in 1959, her brother Jackie in 1975, her mother in 2001, her brother Larry in 2020, and her sister Mildred Levescy in 2022. She is survived by her brother Floyd Brassfield. Joyce Brassfield graduated top of her class at Capital Hill high school in 1960. At the age of 17, she started her first job working in the mailroom at the Oklahoma State Health Department. She continued working for OSHD and eventually retired at the age of 59 as an accountant for the payroll division of the Oklahoma State Health Department. Joyce Brassfield never married and never had any children. She had many nieces and nephews who greatly loved her. She was often addressed as ”Aunt” Joyce by others not of any relation. Her most treasured times were always those spent with family. She particularly enjoyed family gatherings during the holidays. She was a wonderful example of what a daughter, aunt, and friend should be. She will be greatly missed by everyone who knew and loved her. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm on Thursday, January 11th 2024, at Sunny Lane Funeral Home & Cemetery. A visitation for Joyce will be held Wednesday, January 10, 2024 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Sunny Lane Funeral Home, 4000 SE 29th Street, Del City, OK 73115. A funeral service will occur Thursday, January 11, 2024 at 1:00 PM, 4000 Se 29th Street, Del City, OK 73115. A burial will occur Thursday, January 11, 2024 at 2:00 PM at Sunny Lane Funeral Home & Cemetery, 4000 SE 29th St, Del City, OK 73115.
