John Davis Monroe passed away on June 26, 2018 in Norman, Oklahoma. He was born on July 15, 1940, in Pontiac, Michigan, to John Davis and Irene Mae (Bunch) Monroe. He always had a love of God, and was a minister for the Nazarene church for many years. He was also a self-employed home builder and a member of the CMSA. John had many talents, and was an entertainer. He was a gifted singer, banjo player, steel guitar player, and most of all, an Elvis impersonator. John had his own custom made Elvis outfit and loved to perform at different locations, including retirement centers. He was loved by all who knew him, and will be greatly missed.
John is survived by his wife, Kay Monroe; two children, Michael Monroe (wife Kristi) and Mark Monroe; step-children, Candice Conn, Pam Ketner and Bryan Conn; brother, Tommy Monroe; and four grandchildren, Jade, Jordan, Jacob, and Bella.
He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Diana Lauinger.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 28, 2018 from 6-8pm at Bill Eisenhour Funeral Home in Del City Funeral services will be held on Friday, June 29, 2018 at 2pm in the Bill Eisenhour Chapel. Burial will be at Sunny Lane Cemetery.
