Dorothy Nell Eddleman, 94, passed away in Oklahoma City, OK on February 8, 2019, while holding the hands of Shirley and Don LaBrosse. She was born on November 8, 1924 in Talco, TX to Ben and Ollie Mae (Hunt) Bond. Dorothy traveled with her husband, George, as he proudly served his country in the United States Air Force for 30 years. During this time they were stationed at numerous air force bases throughout the world. She enjoyed playing golf, bowling, ceramics, knitting, crocheting, cross stitch, traveling, RVing, swimming, and fishing. She took swimming lessons at 65 years young, and was the only member in her class to pass.
While living in Hawaii, she and George enjoyed waking in the early mornings to comb the beaches, and also found joy in making jewelry from the seeds found in the Hawaiian plants. During their many travels together, they saw Queen Elizabeth’s coronation in Great Britain in the 1950’s. After 75 years of marriage, they renewed their wedding vows on February 1, 2017 and until the day he passed, they called each other honey, my darling, sweetheart, and held hands at every opportunity. George and Dorothy shared a love and bond like no other.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband George, and children George Anna LaBrosse and Michael Craig Eddleman. Survivors include son in law, Don LaBrosse and wife Shirley; four grandchildren; one great-granddaughter, Desirea McKay; and two great-grandsons, Kohen and Kashton Parrish.
A funeral service will be held at 2pm Wednesday, February 13, 2019 in the Arlington Mausoleum in Oklahoma City.
