Donald Daniels, 83, passed away on August 18, 2022. Don was born on October 17, 1938 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma to Archie & Bernice Daniels.
Don was an exceptional father and wonderful friend. When he was 16 days shy of his 18th birthday, he entered the United States Navy during the Korean Conflict. He served Active Duty from October of 1956 to October 1960 and then Reserves until January of 1962 with an Honorable Discharge. In September of 1963, he married the love of his life, Shirley (Fitzgerald) Daniels, 9 days after she turned 18 years old. They were married for 44 years until her death whom he honored, loved, and respected. Don was a Cross Country Truck Driver for over 20 years and retired from Fred Jones Manufacturing in 1989.
Don moved to Eufaula, OK, in October of 2019, to spend the last chapter of his life enjoying peace & quiet with his family.
Don enjoyed watching OU Football, Birdwatching & feeding, and Judge Judy. He also loved to Golf, fish, and Barbeque. God & faith were very important to him, while he was not a church member, he still had devotionals and talks with his daughter who lived with him and close family friends.
Don is preceded in death by his parents, Archibald and Bernice Daniels (Huffman); his wife, Shirley Ruth (Fitzgerald) Daniels; brothers, Gerald Daniels and Darrell Daniels.
Don is survived by his children, Stacey Gillette and husband Steve of Moore, OK, Darla Pearce of Eufaula, OK and Leslie Wiggins and husband Darrell of Eufaula, OK He is also survived by 6 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, 1 nephew, and 2 very good family friends, Guadalupe & Donda Quintanilla, Jr. of Eufaula, OK.
Don was loved by all who met him and his presence will be greatly missed.
A visitation for Donald will be held Friday, August 26, 2022 from 12:00 PM to 5:00 PM at Sunny Lane Funeral Home, 4000 Se 29th Street, Del City, OK 73115. A funeral service will occur Saturday, August 27, 2022 at 2:00 PM at Sunny Lane Funeral Home with interment to follow at Sunny Lane Cemetery.
