Dennis Edwin Reed began touching lives on May 6, 1953. He was born to Cleveland H. Reed and Hester (Johnson) Reed in Joiner Arkansas. Dennis was truly unforgettable; there was no way you were going to have an encounter with this wonderful man and not feel the warm love and kindness that he exuberated. Dennis had such an open heart, and would do anything to make sure that people he loved were happy. One of Dennis’s methods of creating happiness was through his get togethers at his house. He didn’t care if everyone was going to fit, or there was going to be a ruckus, he enjoyed being able to sit back and watch his family take pleasure in being with one another. Dennis was a very light soul, he didn’t allow for hate or worry to linger in his heart. He would often give the advice, let it go and just be happy. However, Dennis was still just as ornery as ever, and he showed it when playing dominos. Dennis loved playing dominos with his wife Versa and you knew when they were playing because this game was not taken lightly, but regardless of how intense the game got you always knew it was due to passion and never anger. Dennis was also an amazing gardener. He had an amazing green thumb and always made sure his plants were watered. You could tell he cared about his plants because even wheel chair bound he would get outside and tend to them. Dennis never allowed his physical capabilities to stop him and he was a very driven man. In fact Dennis even tried taking himself to Walmart in his electric wheelchair, and probably would have made till he was found out. Dennis enjoyed going to Walmart, it was his favorite store to enter. Dennis also enjoyed cooking, and would eat anything so long as there was gravy, although he enjoyed home cooking Dennis was always up for some KFC (Kentucky Fried Chicken). Dennis was very passionate about his sports he was a huge OSU fan and OKC Thunder fan. Dennis was so much fun to be around and would bring a smile to the saddest of faces, he just had this light that shined on everyone he met. Dennis above all was the best father you could ask for, he was a friend and a parent at the same time; you could always go to him with a problem. He loved his children so much and would have done anything to reassure their happiness. Family was very important to Dennis, and it was important to him to find a wife that shared the same morals and beliefs. Twenty-seven years ago he met the woman that would fulfill those requirement and love him and his children unconditionally, Versa. Dennis and Versa shared a love that was greater than love, and it didn’t matter who you were, if you knew them it was apparent. Dennis entered his eternal rest on March 4, 2015 in Oklahoma City, OK.
