Dennis Martin (Joe) Connor was born December 29, 1920 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and passed away January 11, 2024, after a brief illness. He was a lifetime Oklahoman who lived in the same house from his birth until his death.
He was preceded in death by the love of his life his wife of 73 yrs Opal Sparks, and his beautiful daughter Joyce Conner Dutton. While Dennis outlived immediate family and inlaws, he is survived by many nieces and nephews. His nieces and nephews remember him as the Uncle who loved to laugh and occasionally be a jokester.
He lived a wonderful full life, in his 103 years. He had a strong work ethic which was evident in his 43 years employment at South West Wheels. He was kind hearted and was always available to help those who needed assistance. He loved people and his community and when Opal was living they regularly supplied local food banks with eggs and meats. His generosity and kindness was well known in his neighborhood.
His 2 closest neighbors, Al Scott and Ronnie Payne, were not only his best friends but he considered them "the sons I never had." They were his invaluable support during his final weeks.
He loved the outdoors and nature. Dennis cherished the companionship of his dogs, especially his last 2 long time fur friends, Mocha and Babe. His fondness of animals extended to the cat community in the neighborhood, and he regularly fed the strays.
