Delores Alene Payne

Delores Alene Payne was born in Tulsa Oklahoma on July 20, 1934 to Abraham Davison and Nellie Lorene Mitchell. Delores passed this life on Friday, October 11, 2024 in Owasso, OK and present was her sister Norma J Capehart of Owasso, Ok.

Delores took her sister Norma, roller skating for her birthday, February 2, 1953 and met John F Payne who was visiting his aunt in Tulsa, OK while on leave from the Air Force. It was the beginning of 69 years of marriage on February 15, 1953.

Delores passed her first IRS exam in 1979 and each year after until she retired In 1999. When John retired, they moved to Midwest City, and she worked for the Oklahoma Tax Commission. After retiring, she enjoyed hand sewing and painting. Delores especially enjoyed helping people with free tax service at the Senior Center in Midwest City, OK.

The highlight of Delores and John was their daughter Sandra Jean Payne,Fisher,Yoon. It was both an amazing and miracle day when they received a phone call and learned that Sandra had a sister, Young Ae Yoon, and two brothers Jague Yoon and Sun Ku Yoon, spouses and children. There were several visits and both John and Delores thought of them as their children too.

Delores is survived by Sandra Yoon, granddaughter Rachel Fisher McIntyre, spouse Jesse McIntyre and grandson Nathanael Fisher and spouse Cristina Fisher , five McIntyre greatgrand children, Judah, Selah, Jonathan, Jocelyn and Madysen. Also sister Norma J

Capehart, niece, Roberta (Robin) L Brown, spouse Ron Brown and son Jesse J Brown in Tulsa, OK, niece Mary Heather Capehart and son Miles Davison Capehart in Tulsa,OK, nephew Brent A Capehart, Ottawa, CA, son Christian Capehart, daughter Caroline Capehart, nephew Mark A Capehart in Tulsa, OK, daughters, Alexandra Capehart, Mary Jane Capehart, son Tate’ Capehart and greatgrand daughter Kairi Capehart.

The family would like to acknowledge and thank both the wonderful and considerate staff at the Homestead of Owasso and the Luminos Hospice staff.
