

Lelia Elizabeth ‘Betty’ Shipe was born, October 22, 1934, in Indiana, Pennsylvania the daughter of Robert G. and Josephine Anna Robertson and departed this earthly life on November 14, 2022, at the age of 88 years.
After graduating from high school in 1952 Betty became a Registered Nurse in 1955 and a year later was accepted and commissioned a 2nd Lieutenant in the United States Air Force where she served at Gunter Air Force Base in Alabama, Francis E Warren Air Force Base in Wyoming and then overseas at Dhahran Air Base in Saudi Arabia. While stationed at Dhahran she met and married her husband Robert ‘Bob’ in 1957. Upon marriage they agreed that should children come she would become a stay at home mom and raise them. Their marriage brought three children into the world: Sherron Leann, Darlene Lynn and Robert Jr. During their 64 year marriage Betty became active in the Masonic world and performed numerous leadership roles. She was involved in Jobs Daughters serving as Bethel Guardian of Bethel #4 in Del City and Grand Guardian in 1981. She served in the Midwest City DeMolay Mothers Club from 1979 to 1988 and a member of the Midwest City Rainbow Board of Chapter #180 for numerous years while Worthy Matron and 25 year Secretary of Eastern Star Chapter #491.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her sister Dorothy, and daughter Sherron.
She is survived by her husband Bob, two children: Darlene Lynn and companion significant other Stan and Robert Jr. and wife Melinda. Six grandchildren: Christopher Lee Jacobs and wife Andrea, Ryan Jacobs, Nick Jacobs and wife Courtney, Micheal Smith, Kari Mitchell and husband Ben, and Tyler Shipe and wife Kody. Twelve great grandchildren: Tyler Burns, Connor Burns, Aidan Jacobs, Anabel Jacobs. Ryan Jr. Nathan Jacobs, Caulin Jacobs, Zackery Jacobs; Gabriel Mitchell, Emmanuel Mitchell and Brecken Shipe and Aspen Shipe.
A visitation will be held from 10:30 am - 1:00 pm on Thursday, November 17, 2022 in Sunny Lane Funeral Home Chapel, located at 4000 SE 29th ST, Del City, OK 73115. Services will be on the same day commencing at 1:00 pm. Interment will follow at Sunny Lane Funeral Home.
