Rosalyn "Lynn" A. Nicholson

Nicholson, Rosalyn A., age 91 passed away peacefully at The Forum at Deer Creek in Deerfield Beach, Florida, on May 10th, 2018. Born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Lynn was raised by her father, Rosslyn Allen and her grandparents, Mr. & Mrs. Charles H. Allen.

Lynn had a wonderful childhood growing up with her aunts and uncles. During high school and college, she worked in the family business, Allen Gauge and Tool Company. Lynn graduated from Ohio State University and was an avid fan of "Buckeye" football. The Nicholson Family moved from Long Island, New York to Deerfield Beach, Florida in 1959. Lynn worked for the City of Deerfield Beach for many years in the tax office and for a year served as Recreation Supervisor for Pioneer Park. The last 20 years of her career were with Sears of Pompano Beach in the business office.

Traveling was a passion and with her friend, Mel Porter, they visited more than 30 countries. Lynn enjoyed reading and some of her favorite authors were James Patterson, Sue Grafton, and J.D. Robb. One of her greatest pleasures was volunteering at the Percy White Library in Deerfield Beach with the Friends of the Library.

She is survived by her daughter, Nancy, and her husband Floyd Zink and her son, Bob, and his wife Dorothy Nicholson.

A service will be held at Kraeer-Becker Funeral Home in Deerfield Beach, on Wednesday, May 16th at 11:00 AM. Lynn will be laid to rest at The Gardens in Boca Raton, Florida.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations in Lynn's memory be made to: Guiding Eyes for the Blind www.guidingeyes.org or friends of the Library at Percy White Library. Call 954-357-7680.
