Clayton Allyn Strickland

Clayton Allyn Strickland, beloved son, brother and friend to many passed suddenly on Monday, January 10, 2022. Clay was born in Charlotte, North Carolina February 11, 1979, and has lived in Deerfield Beach and Boca Raton, Florida for the past 15 years.

Clay founded Alt-Interiors, specializing in renovations of luxury homes in West Palm Beach, Boca Raton, and the surrounding areas. Clay was held in high esteem by his colleagues and clients as one of the most talented in his industry. He found joy in innovation and collaboration.

Clay cherished times spent with his family and friends, time spent outdoors and also had a passion for history. Those who had the joy of knowing him valued his humor, integrity, friendship, and generosity. He will be remembered for his warmth, kindness, good humor and natural charisma. Clay appreciated the value of true friendship, was incredibly loyal, and for that he was loved like a brother by many. Always an attentive listener and without judgement, Clay was a true friend. The love and support for him speaks volumes about the relationships he maintained and have meant so much to the family.

Clay was deeply loved by his family and will be missed immensely. Our hearts are broken, but we know he is at peace with the Lord. He was a loving son, a best friend to his brothers and a wonderful uncle. Clay was adored by his nephew Daniel who he called “DD” and loved spending time with him. Prior to his death, he spent several weeks over the Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Years holidays in Charlotte visiting with his family. It is a time we will cherish forever.

Clay is survived by his father, Charles Strickland, mother Kathryn Bunker, stepfather Dennis Bunker, brothers Kelly Strickland and Cameron Strickland and Cameron’s wife Sarah and their son, Daniel, Aunts Barbara Simmons and June Howard, Dick and Claire Strickland and many cousins.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 2:00 PM on February 11, 2022 at Myers Park Presbyterian Church, 2501 Oxford Place, Charlotte, NC 28207. A reception will immediately follow the service in Oxford Hall at the church. Live streaming is available at https://myersparkpres.org/live/special/
