Remembering our dearest friend on her death anniversary with prayers 🙏🏽

Condolences on Tita Nancy's passing. She and Tito Arthur were always so cheerful and helpful to us when we were children, friends to our family, parents from NJ. She was a supportive friend and advisor, with a sunny approach, and a great comfort to my late Mom in her final days, our family, and my sister (her God daughter). I just read this memorial. People often wonder what makes a life meaningful. 

Is it the number of years lived on Earth? Is it finding your soul mate? Is it having children and grandchildren? Is it having a warm relationship with your family and relatives? Is it having true friends? Is it making an impact on people around you? Is it having a good education and career? Is it having good values?

If any of these is a measure of a meaningful and valuable life, then Auntie Nancy had an amazing and fulfilling one. 

She celebrated and blew out birthday candles 78 times. She met Uncle Bing (Arthur) in medical school and were inseparable since. They had four loving and responsible children and six wonderful grandchildren. She had caring sisters who loved her so much and were by her side until the end. She had countless nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews, great grandnieces, great grandnephews who adored her. She had a great education in medicine and a career as a physician. She had genuine friends from all walks of life. She built a cozy home and filled it with traditions that will forever be cherished by everyone who was lucky enough to be a part of it. She touched so many lives through her delicious cooking, her generosity, her friendship and her caring nature.

True, she couldn’t take any of it with her, but it’s okay, because she didn’t do it for herself, she did it for all of us. 

Thank you, Auntie, from the bottom of our heart, for all the memories you helped make, the love that you shared, the lessons you taught us, for giving so much of yourself to us and for showing us the meaning of life.

I will miss you Tita Nancy (aka Lulu) You were always so kind to me when I was a child. I remember that you always made sure that I was fed whenever we came to visit, and warm when the days became colder. Your smile and hugs brought me happiness as a kid. Thank you. Your warmth and presence will be greatly missed.

Nancy, we miss your smile and sweet personality. I always looked up to you. You chaired the UPMASA Medical Mission which I joined and you are my sis in the Mu Sigma Phi Sorority. You and Art were a perfect pair and now you are together again. Let this be a small testament to your family, especially your children of how you were much loved and that you will always be with us.

We loved sharing several trips with Lola in Disney World!

Nancy was so proud of all and loved all her grandkids. Christian and Timothy finally grew taller than their Lola!

One of the best days ever! I stayed over at her house after plans changing with friends and she stood up and said “let’s check out this tulip festival in Manorville”. So we went and it was a wonderful day for just the two of us. ❤️

It is with sadness to read that our beloved Nancy had joined Art on their eternal journey. I wasn't even aware that she was sick. We live one county apart in eastern Long Island.  The last times we were together were during Art's wake. 
Nancy was one of those individuals who was so pleasant to be with. She was full of laughter and we'd talk mostly about the family and grandchildren, and their post-retirement. Seeing her later on in our chapter's events, like our pre-pandemic picnics and reading her many involvements in the early years of our chapter, showed her true spirit. She was a people-person and she gave her talents, time and treasure to the causes she believed in.  As a Mu sis, co-chapter -mate, she was a true Mu and UPMASAn through and through.
Condolences to her children and the rest of the family.  Our prayers for eternal rest and peace.

On behalf of the Board of Governors, we send our deepest condolences to the entire Ramirez & Plurad families for the loss of Nancy Lulu Ramirez-Plurad.  Lulu has been a dedicated and distinguished member of UPMASA since its inception in the 1980s. Together with her husband Arthur, she has worked tirelessly to promote the mission and vision of giving back to the alma mater, the University of the Philippines College of Medicine and Philippine General Hospital. She served as NJNYCT chapter Treasurer from 1997-1999. She was always ready to volunteer with a smile on her face.  A truly gentle and kind person to all.

We will miss her but her legacy shall live forever in the hearts of many. The gates of heaven have gained another angel. May the peace of God comfort her children, grandchildren, and family.  Let us remain steadfast in the faith, proclaiming the love of Jesus Christ.
