Uncle Lance
You were taken too soon and so missed by many. I was just reminiscing with kids about the pool parties at Nana and Granddaddy’s house. Nana would yell at you as you threw us, with great height, into the pool and you always instigated the “whirlpool”. Oh such fabulous memories.  I know not everyone was as lucky as us kids. I worked with lance in Highway 1 in the 80 s . He was always a gentleman and friend. Rip peace lance 

I worked with Lance in the 5th precinct. Always sharp always a gentleman and always a true Police Officer. Hope he rests in peace in Gods arms, that's what he deserves.  God Bless you Lance. Jim Dianora.

Dearest Michele, Michael & family, and the beloved Long Family,
      The news of your father's passing came as quite a shock . . .  you are all very much in our thoughts and in our hearts.
      The song of Lance's life has ended but the  music of his soul is forever !  . . . in the days to come, during your lonely hours, may you hear the music from above and know that all is well !!
      Remember the best thing about dying . . . the Gospel truths, "YOU GO AWAY AND THEN YOU ARE WITH JESUS FOREVER" . . . to know this is a great comfort . . . as you grieve your loss, know that life does not end here, it CONTINUES IN ETERNITY WITH THE LORD !!!

I will miss you, my heart is broken but I know you are with Laura the love of your life .
Everyone in the neighborhood will miss your smile ,kind words, and just seeing you. I am proud to say you are my angel in heaven and I will always remember the last day we talked.
To Lance’s family I am sorry for the loss of your dad he was the best and he loved his grandchildren more then you will ever know

To the Special Family of Lance & Laura-
My husband & I live on Pacific Street... several years back we noticed how the neighborhood always looked clean & “watched over”...we discovered Lance would walk the neighborhood very early every morning & be THAT SPECIAL SOUL WHO CARED ABOUT WHERE HE LIVED & KNEW ALL OF HIS NEIGHBORS- it would be so exciting for my husband to “have a Lance sighting” in the mornings when off to work early & pass him &  they would wave to one another... We thought of Lance as a local celebrity- we were in awe of him & had so much admiration for him - the way he “patrolled the neighborhood & watched over everyone’s houses & streets... how he maintained his own property- it was impeccable not one blade of grass would dare to not be at attention & looking its best having the privilege to be on Lance’s lawn- so one day I was in the car with my husband, it was early afternoon & we were so excited- it was a Lance sighting & it was the afternoon so it would be “okay” to pull over & formally introduce ourselves & we went from admirers from afar to now we were going to meet LANCE- I made my husband turn the car around & run back home... to get snacks- We’re the NY Distributor of Herr’s Snacks- so I always make sure to have goodies for special moments & people- our house is a favorite around Halloween- snacks display by the front door- so when we went back to Lance’s house of course I was nervous will he still be outside to say hi- thankfully he was...OMG! I couldn’t open the window fast enough to say hi & give him treats & that’s how he knew where we lived LOL- he knew every neighbor by their cars & the house and he knew us for the Halloween snacks- he would “house sit for some neighbors”-we were in awe & soaking up every word he said- we were so proud to acknowledge & thank him for how incredible of a person he is to the neighborhood- we even went inside- he showed us how he renovated the dining room wall for Laura-She was so sweet- BOTH IRREPLACEABLE

Uncle Lance
Words cannot come close to how you will be missed. The adoring “fun” uncle who was one of us. Who got in trouble all the time for making us crazy, for winging us in the pool, who scared the daylights out of us on Halloween. Our crazy super awesome funny uncle.  Your sense of humor will live on through our stories, through our tears and especially through our laughter of those memories. Say hello to the gang. It must be nice to be together again.
