Funeral for Judy Frances King Thornton, 69, of Somerville will be today, January 16, 2013, at noon at Roselawn Funeral Home Chapel with Chuck Stewart and John Walker officiating. Burial will be in Decatur City Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until noon at the funeral home.
Mrs. Thornton, who died Monday, January 14, 2013, at home with family, was born June 11, 1943, in Morgan County to Ruby and Merle King. She was a homemaker and a member of the Church of Christ. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, D.W. Thornton; and sister, Mary Hill.
Survivors include one son, Danny Wayne Thornton (Mary) of Vinemont; two daughters, Cathy Ann Jackson (Tim) and Sherry Thornton, both of Decatur; special friend, Norman Gatewood of Newport News, Va.; four brothers, Bobby King of Trinity, Tommy King and Jimmy King, both of Decatur, and Billy King of Huntsville; and four grandchildren, Danica Thornton and Micah Thornton, both of Vinemont, Kimberly Paige Jackson and Ashley Nicole Clemons, both of Decatur.
Pallbearers will be family and friends.
