James David Mixon Jr.

Funeral for James David Mixon Jr., 27, of Decatur will be Wednesday, October 19, 2011, at 4 p.m. at Roselawn Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Bill Hurt officiating. Burial will be in Decatur City Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mr. Mixon, who died Sunday, October 16, 2011, at his residence, was born April 27, 1984, in Decatur to David and Becky Mixon. He graduated from Decatur High School in 2002 and attended The University of Alabama where he was a member of Sigma Alpha Epsilon. He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Dean Hughes; and his uncles, Scott Mixon and Darrell Hughes.

Survivors include his parents, David and Becky Mixon of Decatur; one sister, Whitney Mixon of Decatur; his grandparents, Melvin and Judith Mixon and Calvin Hughes, all of Decatur; aunts and uncles, Janet (Hank) Burleson, Celia (Ray) Fabery, Dean (Christine) Mixon and Steve Mixon; and cousins, Hunter (Heather) Arnold, Michael Gooch, Chris Hasting, Chad Parker, Clint Parker, Matt Burleson and Tyler Burleson.

Pallbearers will be William Dunnivant, Trip Hartselle, Adam Wyker, Webb Wilder, Sam Burnthall, Robie Loyd, Jay Hill, John Adam Hall and Dan Winchester.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Meals on Wheels.
