SMITH, Stephen B., age 75 of Centerville, passed away Tuesday, March 5, 2013. Steve was born in Dayton on May 14, 1937 to the late James and Alice Burch Smith. He was a graduate of Fairmont High School, Class of’55, where he played the Trumpet in the school band and developed a lifelong love of music, and was a graduate of the University of Dayton, Class of ’61. He retired from W.P.A.F.B. in 2001 as a Foreign Sales Acquisition Manager and received the Outstanding Civilian Career Service Award for his distinguished service to the United States Air Force. Steve always said his greatest acquisition was his wife Sue whom he met in 1976. He will be remembered for his wonderful smile, his brilliant mind, his unselfishness, his beautiful face, his great love of cars, his gastronomic pleasures, and as a great husband, father and friend. He was a member of the Greater Dayton Corvette Club, the American Institute of Wine and Food, and the Sons of Italy. He was preceded in death by his parents, and two brothers, Micky and Terry. He is survived by his best friend and loving wife of 36 years, Sue; sons, Mike (Shawn), Rick (Tami), and Jim (Laura); daughters, Terry and Kelly; 16 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; brother, John (Connie); sister-in-law, Ann; and numerous nieces, cousins, and wonderful friends (many of whom are the extended family). A celebration of Steve’s life will be from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. Saturday, March 16, 2013 at the TOBIAS FUNERAL HOME - FAR HILLS CHAPEL, 5471 Far Hills Ave., Dayton, Ohio 45429, with a service at 3:00 p.m. Stephen (my Teve), you will be greatly missed.
