Black, Shelly (Booher), age 50, of Bellbrook, Ohio, passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 2, 2018, at her family home after a one year battle with cancer. Shelly was born in Dayton, Ohio to Jerry and Vivian (Wilson) Booher on March 11, 1968. She is a graduate of Temple Christian School and Wright State University where she majored in Education. She married Mike Black on November 23, 1991 at Cornerstone Baptist by Pastor Jerry Siler. Shelly served as a teacher for Dayton Public Schools for 7 years and founded and operated both Stars Gymnastics, Cheer and Dance and Busy Kids Gymnastics with her sister and business partner, Penny Violette. She was a member of Cornerstone Baptist Temple. Shelly is survived by Mike Black, her husband of 26 years; 2 sons, Ty Black (24) and Troy Black (21); sister, Penny and brother in law, Mike Violette; parents, Jerry and Vivian Booher; brother in law, Alan Black; nephew, Kyle Violette, niece,Whitney Violette; great nieces, Ansley and Harper Violette and great nephew, Conner Violette. Special friends include Thomas "Elroy" and Sheila Oakley, Don and Melissa Coleman, Derek and Julie Black, Mike and Mary Raiff, Carla Brockman, Maryjo Prince-Paul and Nelly Black (our Golden Doodle). Visitation will be held from 4:30 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. on Friday, August 10, 2018, at Cornerstone Baptist Temple, 1707 Ohmer Avenue, Dayton, Ohio 45410. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, August 11, 2018, at Cornerstone Baptist Temple with Pastor Jerry Siler of Cornerstone Baptist Temple officiating. Burial will follow at Woodland Cemetery. Pallbearers will be: Mike Violette, Kyle Violette, Thomas "Elroy" Oakley, Don Coleman, Mike Raiff and Alan Black.
