DIX, Scott R., “Scotty” age 51 of Dayton passed away suddenly on Sunday, October 4, 2015 (10/13/1963 – 10/04/2015). Scott had over 30 years of experience as an independent contractor in flooring, remodeling houses and general construction work.
Scott was preceded in death by his father Bert, his “Dad” Jim Davis, and his uncle Mark Schmolinski. He is survived by his daughter Shannon Dix, stepson Matt Thompson, his mother, Barbara Davis, who he called his best friend, brothers Bert Dix (Sherri) and Richard Dix (Janet), sister Barbara Dix, nephews Brad Martin, Jacob, Jeremy and Justin Dix, niece Brittney Martin, great nephew Harlan Martin, great nieces Lily Martin and Christany Phillips. He loved his aunts and uncles: Butch (Lori) Schmolinski, Tony (Doody) Bystrek, Tom (Brenda) Horner and Phyllis Smith. He had four favorite aunts: Doody, Phyllis, Brenda, and Lori. Scott also had many cousins and friends.
Scott is also survived by his longtime companion of 14 years, wife Marlene Wright and her family. He loved being Pappaw to the kids. Scott is most known for having a big heart. He loved his family and will be truly missed by everyone who loved him.
The Funeral Service will be held at 11am, Monday, October 12, 2015 at Tobias Funeral Home, Belmont Chapel, 648 Watervliet Ave. Friends may visit from 10am until the time of service Monday. Burial in David’s Cemetery.
