HORTON, Phyllis Carpenter, age 79 of Centerville, Ohio, passed away Sunday, October 27, 2013 at the Miami Valley Hospital. She was born on the family farm outside of Greenville to the late Max W and Flossie(Manuel)Carpenter. She was a 1952 graduate of Greenville High School. After graduation Phyllis started her civil employee career, as a secretary, with Wright Patterson Air Force Base. In 1990 she retired as a General Officer’s secretary of Wright Patt. Phyllis was also a member of the NARFE and enjoyed playing cards, bowling; going to casinos and cross-stich. She is preceded in death by her daughter Carol Sue Fox, her former husband William Horton, infant sisters; Mary Kathryn Carpenter and Jennette Carpenter, sisters; Virginia M.(Walter)Throp, Alice(Milton “Dick”)Harvey, brothers; George W. Carpenter, and James(Claribel)Carpenter. Phyllis is survived by her brother Jack W.(Jean)Carpenter North Royalton, OH., sister-in-law Alvena Carpenter Mason, OH., a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews, and great-grand-nieces and nephews, and numerous friends. Family to receive friends from 5:00PM to 8:00PM Friday, November 1, 2013 at the TOBIAS FUNERAL HOME-Far Hills Chapel; where service will be held 10:00AM Saturday, November 2, 2013. Burial will follow at the Dayton Memorial Park Cemetery.
