LONGO, Nancy M., was born September 13, 1922 in Dayton, Ohio. She passed away peacefully at the Hospice of Dayton December 30, 2014. She is survived by her daughters Diane de Groot of North Carolina and Nancy Longo of Dayton, grandchildren; Danielle de Groot Crawford of Oregon, Amy Longo of New York, and Hendrik de Groot of North Carolina. She is preceded in death by her beloved husband of 66 years, Michael Longo, her parents Joseph and Mary Malena, her siblings, Joseph and Tony Malena, Dottie Lauricella and Faye Sherk and great-granddaughter Willow Crawford. Nancy was a graduate of Roosevelt High School. She partnered, owned and managed Michael Longo’s Italian American Cuisine of Dayton. She was beloved by family and friends and an active member of Sons of Italy John Pirelli Lodge #1633. Nancy was a gifted artist and will be remembered for her gourmet cooking and the beautiful garments she created. She loved travel and was a lifelong patron of the arts. Family will receive friends Friday, January 2, 2015 from 5:00PM to 7:00PM at the TOBIAS FUNERAL HOME-Far Hills Chapel. Mass of Christian burial will be held 10:00AM Saturday, January 3, 2015 at the St. Joseph Catholic Church with Fa. Kenneth Pleiman celebrant. Burial will follow Calvary Cemetery. In lieu of flowers contributions can be made to the Hospice of Dayton or St. Joseph’s Catholic Church.
