CHAPMAN, Nancy Suzanne, age 75, of Washington Township Departed this life after a lengthy battle with a rare sarcoma cancer on Friday, December 12, 2014 at home. She was born April 6, 1939 at her grandparent’s home in Mt Gilead, Ohio to Alma G (Schroeter) and the late C. Lowell Shambaugh. Preceded in death by her daughter Nancy Kay Chapman. She is survived by her husband of 53 years, Lowell, four sons, David, Dean, Daniel and Douglas, nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Her career as a registered nurse began in 1961 after graduating Magna Cum Laude from Mount St. Joseph College in Cincinnati included working at Good Samaritan Hospital, Cincinnati; Clinton Memorial Hospital, Wilmington; Riverside Memorial Hospital , Columbus; Kettering Memorial Hospital, Dayton; Dr. Andrew Manganaro, Dayton. Her main interests were her collecting novel giraffes, grandchildren, flower gardening and working huge jigsaw puzzles. She was known professionally as Nancy, by friends as Sue and by her children as Mom or Grandma and Suzy to her husband. Visitation will be held from 4:30 until 7:30 p.m. Sunday, December 14, 2014 at the TOBIAS FUNERAL HOME – FAR HILLS CHAPEL, 5471 Far Hills Ave., Dayton, Ohio 45429. Funeral Mass 10:30 a.m. Monday, December 15, 2014 at St. Charles Catholic Church, 4500 Ackerman Blvd., Kettering, Ohio 45429 followed by burial, with her late daughter, at David’s Cemetery, Far Hills Ave., Kettering.
