Dear Meininger family, I just learned of your beloved Michele's passing from a DePauw classmate tonite, 5 years after the fact. I only knew Michele at DePauw as she was one of the kindest most loving students in our beloved small progam. She was always smiling and laughing in the hallways and always carrying her beloved viola, which she cherished. I remember her playing in the orchestra when I won the Concerto Competition our junior year and thinking I'm so glad Michele's on stage with me because I know the strings will be amazing. I just found out about the loss of Michele, so sad. We were college friends and played in orchestra together. One of my favorite memories was of renting skis together at a mom and pop store when the DePauw chamber orchestra traveled to Austria. Four of us had a marvelous day skiing in the alps. I am happy that Michele touched so many lives, young and old.  She always made me smile. My condolences to the family.

Dear Dr. And Mrs. Meininger and family, 
We are deeply saddened to hear news today of Michele's passing. We had the honor of knowing Michele as our son's Primary teacher at DCS Montessori. He adored Michele and thrived in her classroom. He knew she was a great person, even at age 3. She taught him math and skiing, still two of his favorite things. We adored Michele, especially her sense of humor and her kindness and consideration for others. She had a gift for teaching children, and was a wonderful Montessorian. She will be missed, our hearts break with yours.

Word of Michele's passing reached DCS Montessori this week and we are all in shock.  I work in the office at the school and Michele would often stop by to say hello and share a funny story with us.  I also learned so much from her about the world of Montessori education.  I'm so sorry for your loss.

I worked with Michele at DCS Montessori and she always had an amusing story to tell and was very lively and funny. I'm sad to hear of her passing..I lost touch with her after she left DCS and hoped she was still teaching and skiing, 2 things I know she loved. She's flying with the Angels now and may she rest in peace.

We are so sorry for your loss. Michele was my son's teacher at Denison Montessori 14 years ago, and even though my daughter was just 2 at the time, Michele taught her, too, when I volunteered in the classroom. She was so patient and welcoming, and I really enjoyed talking to her. We all remember her fondly.

I am so sad to hear this news. Michele played viola for me and was my friend in Nashville many years ago. She was so talented and funny. It was a special time and a happy time. She moved on and we lost touch. I knew she was sharing her gift teaching children. Those lucky kids. I hope she is at peace and all the good memories can surround those finding this news hard to accept. What a great smile. Infectious.

I worked with Michele at Lincoln Elem. in Denver as her principal.  She was a wonderful teacher and totally embraced the Montessori process.  I loved visiting her class and watching the children as she masterfully guided them through lessons.  The children adored Michele and she loved them.  She will be missed dearly.

So saddened to learn of Michele's passing.  She and I were stand partners one summer in Chicago Civic Orchestra.  I so enjoyed her company and her beautiful viola playing.  My condolences to her family.

We met Michele last year at Alexandria. Our daughter loved her and we immediately knew there was something special about this woman. She went above and beyond to help our daughter. Her spirit, and soul, and good nature, I instantly felt. She seemed genuine, giving, humble, and dedicated to what she did. She changed the course of my child's school year for the better.  She made our lives better. We were looking so forward to having her back at AMS this year in our daughter's class. We pray for all of her family. We are heartbroken. God surely has a better plan for Michele.

I met Michele a few years ago in Denver when she opened her home to me as I was passing through and checking out the training center.  She introduced me to The Sanctuary in Castle Rock and I remember having a lovely day with her.  We walked around the labyrinth and the geometry gardens and had a sweet lunch at a Mexican restaurant.  I remember going on a walk with her around a park nearby her house and listening as she told me her story.  I will not forget her.  Truly, she had a lovely soul and my life is better because I met her.  I truly hope that she rests in peace and I am sending loving thoughts to her family and to her students.  She will be most certainly missed.

Michele, from the time we started our Montessori journey so many years ago, I have been proud to know you.  You were so bright, witty, thoughtful and fun.  I admired your teaching skill and insight as we traversed the landscape of public school and Montessori philosophy.  I remember you with love and admiration.

We are so saddened about Michele's passing.  She was a talented Montessorian and will be missed by all who knew her.  Our daughter especially enjoyed working on letters and reading books with Ms. Michele.  Our thoughts and prayers go out to Michele's family.

I am so incredibly sorry for your loss.  Michelle and I were friends and colleagues from the Chicago Symphony, and ironically both ended up living in Denver.  She was a great lady, and will be missed.

So sorry to hear about Michele. She was our first Primary Montessori teacher at Lincoln Elementary in Denver Colorado. She was so helpful in getting the Montessori program implemented at Lincoln. It was a pleasure working with her. Very sorry for your loss.

We were very sad to learn of Michele's passing. We feel close to your family as our son John played football with Mike at West. Our son (John) passed August 10, 2013 at age 53 in Florida from cancer. Mike was kind enough to come to our Celebration of Life for John; it meant a great to our family to have him there. Only those of us who have lost a child, regardless of age, can understand your grief.  We pray time will lessen the pain but the good memories will last a lifetime. God bless.
