Coffey, Margaret Louise (Steinmetz) went home to be with the Lord November 12, 2024 at age 97. She was born on June 29, 1927 in Harrisville, WV to Pearlie Cecil and Mae (McQueen) McQuain. Preceding her in death were three brothers, Vance, Freeman, and Albert McQuain and three sisters, Mildred Taylor, Clara Dillinger and Pauline Windon. She is survived by a sister Ruth Holbert of Bridgeport, WV. After graduation at age 16, she went to Washington, DC and worked until she met her husband, Bill. Louise was a long-time resident of Germantown, OH, where she and her husband of forty-nine years, William Steinmetz Jr. raised their children until his death in 1993. She later met Charles Coffey and was married until his death in 2005. Louise was the mother of six children; Margaret Durham of Germantown, Marie (Larry) Bryant of Centerville, Jessica (Richard) Sannan of Germantown, William Steinmetz III (deceased), Jim (Sue) Steinmetz of Germantown and Jerry (Peggy) Steinmetz of Germantown. She was a Godly mother and raised her children in church. She has 12 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren with two babies on the way. She loved playing the piano, especially hymns. During her full time-time job raising children, she managed to work outside the home for many years at Karolton Envelope, where she retired. She was an active member of First Baptist Church Germantown where she served as secretary for many years and most recently a member of Morningstar Baptist Church in Centerville. Louise was fiercely independent and lived alone until age 97. A celebration of life will be held at Tobias Funeral Home, 5471 Far Hills Ave Dayton, OH 45429 on Thursday November 21, from 4-6 pm. Burial of ashes will be at a later date in Germantown Union Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Dayton 324 Wilmington Ave Dayton, OH 45420. She was a Mother like no other and will be greatly missed.
