L. Carolyn Zimmer

L. Carolyn Zimmer, age 86, of Dayton passed away at home on January 20, 2023. She was born to her mother, Mildred Webb, who passed away when Carolyn was a child. She was raised by her father, Jay C. Harris, and stepmother, Tresse Harris, both of whom preceded her. She was also preceded by her daughter-in-law, Mandy Helmbright.

Carolyn is survived by her loving husband, Dr. R.V. Zimmer, children: Cynthia Steele, Kenny Helmbright, Dwayne Zimmer, Daniel (Christie) Zimmer, Douglas Zimmer, and Dina (Bill) Geiger; sister, Janet Crawford; 14 grandchildren: Lindsey Helmbright, Logan Bloemker, Lacey Steele, Ty Helmbright, Tanner Helmbright, Tayler Helmbright, Evelyn King, Rachel McAdoo, Josh Zimmer, Nicole Zimmer, Mason Zimmer, Tori Geiger, Allie Geiger and Haley Geiger; nieces Joy (Bret) Query and Janel (Daniel) O'Sullivan, 7 great-grandchildren and many other relatives and friends.

Carolyn lived a full life. She graduated from Ohio University, where she earned a degree in English. Throughout her life, she enjoyed reading, working in the yard, competitive card games, playing video games, and summers at the pool. She loved her family, her Westies, and having dinners all over town with the love of her life, Bob.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday, January 26, 2023 at Tobias Funeral Home, Far Hills Chapel. Visitation will be from 3 PM until 6 PM, with the service to follow. Burial will be private at Calvary Cemetery. Online condolences may be sent to www.tobiasfuneralhome.com.
