Missing John is the hardest thing I've faced. I have so many questions for my friend. Of our group he was definitely the kindest. ❤️

We had the honor of buying John's Beavercreek home from him in 2016 and every switch, every storage room, every convenience was right where you wanted it to be. He had a passion for outdoor light fixtures in the basement so in his honor we installed one in our current home after moving from the area. He was a great and gifted man. I'm sorry to hear of his passing.

John was a exemplary engineering leader.  I had to brief John at the F-16 CCB several times and every time he showed how to chair a config control board meeting with both efficiency & attention to important engineering detail that served the F-16 program so well during his tenure.  He will be missed as both an fine engineer and a father/husband.
   

I always enjoyed working with and sharing perspectives with John.  Throughout our careers at WPAFB, we shared many experiences and while our approaches may have differed at times the focus on the end objective of delivering quality products to the warfighter was always the same. 

I learned much from John through the years as a colleague and friend, including a bit about cooking. 

I’m sorry I will be “unAbell” to attend and send my thoughts and prayers to Joy and the Family.

What a great easy going wonderful person.  I enjoyed working for John and his guidance was always right -on.  He was one of the  reasons  EN was respected world wide.
My wife, Pam, who worked on the B-2 Program, always liked talking to John in Krogers.  He will be missed.

Our Air Force and our nation owe a lot to John for his contributions to national defense.  I worked with John as a young structural engineer in the F-15 program office and was always impressed with his professionalism, leadership, and technical abilities.  He made the F-15 a better airplane and had an extraordinary career.   May he Rest In Peace.

Thank you, John for teaching me how to execute complex acquisition programs.
It's all about integrity, working hard to develop trust with industry and those who work for you. 
I watched you get more done in months than most today take years to accomplish. 
I have used your example and guidance many times in my later life.
On a lighter note, I remember our trip to Israel in 1983. We had to stop at the Dead Sea, so you could swim in it. Head first wasn't the greatest idea.

Joy and family I am so sorry to hear about John's passing. He was always friendly and I must say Spinoza's is also my favorite restaurant in Beavercreek.  

The Brailey family and the Barone family were longtime neighbors. All of us kids grew up together. My sister and John were the same age and as a kid she told him to eat a part of a bush and it got stuck in his throat and he had to have a tracheotomy. He always showed us the scar. We have many wonderful memories of our times together in the neighborhood

To Joy and family my most sincere condolences. John and Joy made a wonderful couple and John will be remembered as a fine man. 
They’re love of family and community will be in our hearts forever. God Bless you and your family.

I first met John when I was a fairly young engineer -- his name was legendary at Wright Field.  I had no idea that our families would become intertwined decades later.  My son Ben always referred to him as "The Colonel" and brought home some great stories. 
You can imagine my delight when our families met (at Spinoza's, of course) and John remembered me from a small part of his career.
