Joan Gray, age 93, peacefully passed away on Monday, November 27, 2023. She dedicated 36 years of her life to Dayton Power & Light, retiring as an assistant supervisor. Her commitment to her work and colleagues created lasting friendships and memories. A devoted member of St. Henry's Catholic Church since 1973, Joan served as a Eucharistic Minister, embodying her deep faith and dedication to her community. Her spiritual contributions enriched the lives of many parishioners. Joan’s hobbies included furniture refinishing, Christmas baking, reading, puzzles and taking care of her yard. Joan is survived by her brother Forrest M Danson (Deborah) and her sister Delia A Chasteen (Ron-deceased). She leaves behind nephews Forrest M Danson III (Deborah), Christopher J Danson (Catherine), Ronald L Chasteen II (Kerry), and David M Chasteen (Margie), as well as nieces Deborah J Danson and Lori A Brozonis (Steve). Her legacy extends to great-nephews and nieces Sarah, Julia, Joe, Anna, Ronnie, Christopher, and Anthony, along with great-great-niece and nephews Taylyn, Camdyn, and Saxyn. She was a loving and cherished sister and devoted to her nieces and nephews who adored her. Joan's kindness and warmth touched the lives of many, and she cherished her dear friends Lynn Harbut, Wanda & Keith Hayes, and Judi Walker. A Memorial Mass to celebrate Joan's life will be held on Monday, December 4, at St. Henry Church, 6696 N. Springboro Pike, Dayton, OH 45449, at 11 am. Donations in her memory can be made to Cincinnati Children’s cancer care and research, Ron Chasteen Scholarship Fund at Fairfield Community Foundation or the charity of your choice.
