Parker, James (Jim) age 84, of Dayton, passed away peacefully on November 23, 2022 after a lengthy illness. Born in Mershons, Kentucky to Henry Parker & Stella "Marie" Lewis Parker. Retired from Chrysler in May 1992 after more than 25 years. Enlisted in the Air Force while in high school where he obtained his diploma. A member of Amvets Post 24 where he was known as "Speedy". He had also been a member of the FOE 3031.
Jim took pride in his lawn and his family. Was an avid fisherman and enjoyed trips to Lake Cumberland. He enjoyed sitting on his front porch and people watching. He also watched a lot of TV from his easy chair and fussed at the meteorologist's. He loved watching Tiger Woods play golf and the OSU Buckeyes.
Preceded in death by his parents Henry Parker & Stella "Marie" Lewis Parker, wife of 62 yrs Peggy (Shannon) Parker, daughter Cynthia Parker, brothers Jerry Parker and Delmar "Doc" Parker.
Jim is survived by his sisters Barbara Norman and Carolyn Mobley, brother Tommy Parker, daughters Marcella Drummond and Jammie Helm, grandchildren Sarah (Richard) Miller, Randilyn (Eamon) Papania, Parker Barnett and Kaeleigh McLennan, great grandchildren Austin, Makenzie and Emery. Son in law Michael Helm with special mention to Jim Kovaleski who was like a son. Thanks to Shawn Hopkins and many close friends, family and great neighbors that he loved and appreciated so much.
