KESSEL, James E., age 88 of Dayton passed away Wednesday, August 12, 2015 at Hospice of Dayton. He was born in Dayton to the late Wesley and Marguerite Kessel and preceded in death by his brother William Kessel. Survived by his loving wife of 66 years, Mary Ann Kessel (nee Doll); 5 children: Kristine (Russ) Thurman, James J. (Sandy), Kenneth M. (Yvonne) of Parker, CO, Michael W. (Tammy), and Thomas G. (Tamara) Kessel; 15 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren and 1 great, great grandchild. James was a US Navy veteran of WWII. He worked at Winter’s Bank in Kettering for over 40 years, managed several banks in the area and opened several of them, including Winter’s Bank in 1962. He was a longtime member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30am on Monday, August 17, 2015. Burial in Calvary Cemetery. Family and friends may visit at the Tobias Funeral Home, Belmont Chapel, 648 Watervliet Ave. on Sunday, August 16, 2015 from 3-6pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice of Dayton or Immaculate Conception Church. Envelopes provided at the funeral home.
