Filoso, Georgie A., age 72 of Xenia, passed away on May 5, 2021 after a lengthy illness. She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Billie Tobin, and her sister Sammie Kopp. Survived by her husband of 51 years, Donald Filoso; son Anthony (Jaime) Filoso; daughter Nicole (Christopher) White; grandchildren: Anna, Lillie, and Vivian Filoso, Moira, Sadie, and Gideon White; sister Johnell Schuerholz, and numerous nieces, nephews, and other family.
Georgie was a Graduate of Wright State University with a Bachelor's Degree in Art Education. She was a K-12 Art Teacher in the Greeneview Local School District in Jamestown, Ohio for 12 years and a Substitute Teacher in both the Beavercreek and Mad River School Districts for 20 more years before retiring from teaching. She enjoyed sketching and painting portraits of the kids and grandkids whenever she could. While she loved cooking and baking at Thanksgiving and Christmas, her biggest love was spending time with the grandkids.
A Gathering of Family and Friends will take place on Wednesday, May 26, 2021 from 12:00pm to 1:00pm at Tobias Funeral Home, Far Hills Chapel. In lieu of flowers, donations in Georgie’s name may be made to the UC Pulmonary Hypertension Program by making checks payable to UC Foundation/Pulmonary Hypertension and sending it to UC Foundation, PO Box 19970, Cincinnati, OH 45219. The Pulmonary Hypertension Fund supports patient education, research and clinical care needs of the program.
