FREY, CLIFFORD P., Col. (USAF Ret.), 82 of Centerville, Ohio passed away September 27, 2022. He was born July 30, 1940 in Seattle, Washington. After graduating from St. Martin’s High School in Olympia, Washington in 1958, Cliff attended Arizona State University. In 1963, he graduated with a B.S. degree in Economics and was commissioned as a 2nd Lt. in the USAF. He was a Vietnam War Veteran and a Master Navigator with 6,900 flying hours. On two separate assignments at WPAFB he served as the Air Force Program Manager for C-130 Simulators and on his second tour he was Deputy Director, AF Training Systems SPO. After 27 years of honorable and dedicated service to his country, he retired from the USAF at WPAFB, OH. in 1990. His military awards and decorations include the Legion of Merit, Distinguished Flying Cross with eleven oak leaf clusters, Air Medal with 9 oak leaf clusters, the Meritorious Service Medal with one oak leaf cluster plus 13 other decorations. Following his military service, Cliff spent the next 17 years working with the civilian aerospace industry as a consultant on aircrew simulator and training programs. After retirement he enjoyed his model train hobby, golf, traveling and time spent with his family. Cliff is survived by his wife of 59 years, Marlene (Giambroni) Frey; daughter Adrienne Masak and husband Jerome of Richmond, VA., grandsons Ryan and Andrew; son Michael Frey and wife Shelly of Bakersfield, CA., granddaughters Megan, Sara and Madison, daughter Anne Marie Bramlage and husband David of Mason, OH., grandsons Colin and Joseph. Also surviving is brother George Frey of Fountain Valley, CA and sister Patricia Mundt of Phoenix, AZ. A visitation of family and friends will be held Tuesday, October 4, 2022 at 9:30 AM to be followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 AM at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, 4500 Ackerman Blvd., Kettering, Ohio 45429. An interment with full military honors will be held Wednesday, October 5, 2022 at 10AM at the Dayton National Cemetery.
