Betty Sue Dunn

Betty Sue Dunn, age 82 of Beavercreek, Ohio passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 5th, 2024. She is preceded in death by her mother Anna G. Smith, and father Virgle Gibbons, brothers Harlan, Luke, Eddie, and Buddy, sisters Gladys (Gibbons) Dailey, Irene (Gibbons) Mathis, and Beatrice Gibbons. She is survived by her husband John A. Dunn Jr., brother Bruce Gibbons, daughter Nora (Tim) Shockey, Sheri (Joe) Oldham, grandchildren Trevor (Megan) Shockey, Trent (Anastasia) Oldham, David Shockey, and Sarah Oldham, and great granddaughter Quinn Shockey. Betty loved and was beloved by her family dearly, she always went out of her way to make each family member feel special and cared for. Betty and John were married for 62 happy, grace filled years.

She was generous with her time, Betty often visited shut-ins. Her friend Virginia and her would go into low-income areas and pass out Easter baskets to the children. She believed in her savior Jesus Christ with all of her heart and was devoted to spreading His love, mercy, and purpose to everyone she came into contact with. Betty was an active member of Dayton Gospel Temple/ New Life Fellowship her entire life. She adored learning more about the Bible and loved to read books that gave perspective and dug deeper into the Word. Betty was often found praying for hours every day, earnestly believing in the power of it. She spent her life honoring God and spreading His gospel.

Betty created and enjoyed a beautiful life of raising her daughters, spending time with her grandchildren and now great grandchild. She was passionate about cooking and baking, and fed many of her amazing breads, pies, and meals. Betty was always looking for ways to make everyone around her feel special, she was good at it, and she blessed many with this gift.

A visitation will be held on October 09, 2024 from 11:00 - 1:00 pm with a service starting at 1:00pm at Tobias Funeral Home Beavercreek Chapel 3970 Dayton-Xenia Rd. Beavercreek, Ohio. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery.
