Abiodun Abosede Osunbunmi passed away peacefully in Dayton, Ohio on Sunday August 29, 2021. She is survived by her loving husband of 49 years, Amos Ajiboye Osunbunmi and her five children, Omolara Ayorinde, Olutoye Osunbunmi, Babafemi Osunbunmi, Jokotola Adenote, and Obadamilola Ipinmoye. In addition, she is survived by her five children-in-law, Omotayo Ayorinde, Oluwatosin Osunbunmi, Oluwaseun Osunbunmi, Paul Adenote and Tope Ipinmoye; and her 13 grandchildren, Oluwarotimi Tayo-Ayorinde, Oluwayemisi Tayo-Ayorinde, Oluwatosin Tayo-Ayorinde, Theodore Osunbunmi, Timothy Osunbunmi, Racheal Osunbunmi, David Osunbunmi, Adebola Adenote, Adeola Adenote, Adeolu Adenote, Anuobakiitan Ipinmoye, Abimbola Ipinmoye and Ayomikun Ipinmoye. Abiodun was the second child and daughter of seven children and is survived by Ariyo Olaofe, Bamike Adeyemi, Titi Oguntomi, Moji Aboderin, and Feyisayo Odusina. Abiodun was born in Nigeria on Sunday November 19, 1944. Her father was Michael Oduwole a veteran of World War II in Nigeria, while her mother was Clementina Oduwole, a successful businesswoman.
Abiodun grew up in a Christian home in Nigeria and attended a Nigerian Christian elementary school, a Christian modern high school and a Christian Teacher Training College, after which she attended the Advanced Level College of Education. Finally, she attended Obafemi Awolowo University in Ile-Ife, Osun State, Nigeria, where she graduated with a Bachelors of Art in Education.
During the course of her professional career as an Educator, she served meritoriously in various positions as a teacher, vice-principal and principal of many schools over a 40-year period. Her students and other teachers adored her moral soundness, versatility, refined taste and inherent goodness.
As a christian, she was God-fearing, always holding on to the truth, industrious and dutiful. In Nigeria, she served in the church as Church Steward and a member of the choir. In addition, she was a member of the Ladies Christ Ambassadors society. She loved music, singing and dancing. Her love for Christ was evident when her children and children-in-law gave her the choice of a birthday party or trip to Israel for her 70th birthday she chose a trip to Israel. As a result, in 2015 she and her husband, Amos traveled to Israel with a group from Fairhaven Church, Dayton Ohio, which they attended.
Abiodun was a benevolent woman. This was evident in the large number of children from various backgrounds whom she voluntarily and gladly accepted to nurture while they lived with her and her family in Nigeria. Overall, Abiodun was a virtuous wife and woman of inestimable value, honored by members of her family and friends. She was a referral point of ideal motherhood, an enterprising woman, joyful in all her undertakings, kind, confident, thrifty and highly disciplined.
