Many will miss him, his upbeat personality, his kindness, positive outlook and friendliness. This Christmas season, he will be missed as he was Santa Claus to family and friends for many years.
He was 75 years old. He was born to Oscar and Irene Ekstrom in Brooklyn, New York. When Glen was about 8 years old, the family moved to Davenport, WA where he stayed until his adulthood. In August 1992, he was baptized a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Davenport and later met his wife there. They were married and sealed for time and all eternity in the Salt Temple in October 1993. The loving couple moved to different states until finally settling in Houston, TX
in 2007.
He was an entrepreneur and a multi talented man who engaged in varied professions.
Most notable are jobs as Disc Jockey/Radio Announcer while attending college, a Mortgage Broker and owning a Mortgage Company. He became a National Sales Manager for wholesale mortgages to a National and International Banks. More recently, Glen established a CHL( Concealed Handgun License) class and graduated more than 11,000 students over the years. Most of all, he served in different church callings as leader, missionary for Church services, teacher for different classes and age groups.
He had numerous interests and hobbies including owning several corvettes since he was18 years old, collecting Coca Cola memorabilias, and other antiques, writing screenplays and poetry, a Beach Boys enthusiast ( been to at least 5 Beach Boys concerts) and taking care of stray/feral cats) to name a few.
He is survived by his wife of 29 years, Joy Alvaro Ekstrom, two sons, Todd and Brad, their wives, Jessica and Kala and grandchildren, Jackson, Christian, Tyler, Mikayla and Alice.
