Wilma I McCartney, 91, of Davenport, passed away Monday, December 30, 2013 at Country Manor in Davenport. Funeral services will be Friday, January 3, 2014 at 2:30 PM at The Runge Mortuary. Visitation will be Friday from 1:30 PM until 2:30 PM at the mortuary. Burial will be in Davenport Memorial Park Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association. Wilma was born February 8, 1922 in Walcott, IA, the daughter of Arnold and Meta (Becker) Butenschoen. She was united in marriage to George Thomas McCartney on August 21, 1941 in Davenport at St. Paul Lutheran Church. She had worked as a clerk at the Rock Island Arsenal over twenty years prior to her retirement in 1984. She enjoyed gardening, handy-work, sewing, crocheting, photography, camping, fishing, cross-stitching along with other needlework.

Newton; Gabe Newton; Melissa and Kelly Newton; Micheal and Zachary Tschida; Becky (Scott) Francis; Annie Tschida; LeAnna (Ben) Chattuck; several great-great grandchildren; nieces and nephews: Annette Brunton, John Gibson and Debbie Drumm.
